Sound United, the parent company of a bunch of audio brands including Polk Audio and Definitive Technology, announced today that it’s bought the D+M Group — parent company to another bunch of audio brands, including Denon, Marantz, and Boston Acoustics.

The acquisition is a pretty big wrap-up for the audio market. Sound United is already the largest supplier of loudspeakers in North America, and the D+M Group is the largest supplier of A/V receivers worldwide. Denon’s branding has also appeared on a number of well-respected high-end headphones, including the Denon AH-D7000 (although technically they’re made by Fostex).

All these brands will now come under the same roof, with the resulting company operating as Sound United.
